Certified Shari’ah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA)
The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) has developed a set of standards that provide guidance on the application of Islamic commercial law in the financial industry.
CSAA stands for Certified Shari’ah Advisor and Auditor and is one of the two fellowship programs offered by the AAOIFI. It was launched in 2006 and currently undergoing a revamping exercise. CSAA is based on the AAOIFI Shari’ah Standards, AAOIFI Governance Standards and AAOIFI Auditing Standards. It is designed for Islamic finance professionals seeking to develop correct understanding, interpretation and implementation skills in the requirements of Shari’ah, governance and auditing standards.
The fellowship places greater emphasis on practical knowledge and real-world applications (and exercises) to deliver an enhanced and optimized learning experience.
